The postprandial blood glucose test is performed two hours after having food, to see the body's response to a glucose post - meal. This test is not used to diagnose diabetes.
No special preparation is needed.
The person availing the test should consume the meal exactly 2 hours before the blood sample is taken. After the meal, don't eat anything else before having the test. Abstain from physical activities of all sorts during the two-hour waiting period as it may increase blood sugar level. Therefore, it is better to be at rest during the waiting period.
